Duncan Heath left school in 1964 and studied Law at the Inner Temple. He did not finish his degree, instead travelled for the next six years in the US, Canada, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Far East, and Australia, finishing up by hitchhiking all the way up the East coast of Africa from South Africa to Egypt.
He started work with William Morris Agency as an Assistant in 1972 but was fired very quickly. He then started his own agency, Duncan Heath
Associates, eventually selling the company to ICM in 1984 and became Chairman of the merged companies in 1990.
Following a management buyout in 2002, the company was now known as Independent Talent Group and in 2011 sold 50% to Ron Burkle of Yucaipa Holdings. ITG represent some of the greatest talent in the UK including directors Matthew Vaughn, Tom Hooper, Danny Boyle and actors Daniel Craig, Colin Firth, Dame Maggie Smith, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Sir Ian McKellen, writers such as Peter Morgan (The Crown, Last King of Scotland, Frost/Nixon, The Queen), Jane Goldman (Kingsman, X-Men: First Class), Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) and Paul King (Paddington) and David Walliams, the UK’s highest grossing author of 2017.
Through their clients the company has been involved in many of the greatest television shows produced the UK including The Crown, Downtown Abbey, Masterchef and the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics. In the box office films such as the James Bond franchise, the Harry Potter series, The King’s Speech, Slumdog Millionaire and many others. Duncan is also CEO of Y Entertainment Group LLC, a Director of CODA Agency and X-ray Touring and an Ambassador for the GREAT Britain Campaign.
