Biography

Vince Gerardis created the first company solely dedicated to packaging and selling tv and film projects based on authors’ works by partnering with prominent literary agent Ralph Vicinanza and forming Created By. Vicinanza specialized in science fiction and fantasy authors and over the course of his career represented everyone from Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlen to Peter Straub, Stephen King and George R.R. Martin.
Vince packaged and is co-executive producing GAME OF THRONES (“GOT”) (2010-2018/HBO) with client GRRM. GOT has transformed television the way JAWS transformed movies, received massive critical acclaim worldwide, and won a staggering 38 Emmys since it’s debut. GOT currently holds the record for most awards for any drama or comedy series.
Additional executive producing includes: RIVERWORLD (2003/UPHE/Alliance Atlantis) based on Philip Jose Farmer’s series of novels; SNOW WONDER (2005/ Warner Bros./CBS) based on Connie Willis’ short story; JUMPER (2008/Fox) based on Steven Gould’s novel; and FLASH FORWARD (2009-2010/HBO) based on Robert J. Sawyer’s novel.

While continuing to represent the preeminent science fiction and fantasy authors in the world, Vince launched his writing career and is producing original ideas. In the latter regard, Vince executive produced WILL (2017/TNT) and set up ICE (2016- /AT&T). WILL is based on an original idea that Vince pitched to Craig Pearce (THE GREAT GATSBY) and ICE is based on Vince’s experiences in the diamond business which he wrote, pitched and sold with Ron Bass.

Vince is currently writing and producing Jack Vance’s seminal five book science fiction series DEMON PRINCES for Paul Allen’s Vulcan Productions, produced by Nick Wechsler and Carole Tomko. He is also executive producing NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK based on Robert Silverberg’s short story, adapted and to be directed by Academy Award winner John Ridley (12 YEARS A SLAVE), produced by Zanne Devine and producing INCONSTANT MOON based on Larry Niven’s short story with Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps at Fox 2000.
